Image converter FAQ

Does this preserve image metadata?

No, the output file may not preserve EXIF, ICC, or other metadata from the original image.

What happens to transparency when exporting to JPEG?

JPEG does not support transparency. If the source image has transparent pixels, the converter flattens them onto a white background before creating the JPEG file.

Where does the conversion happen?

All decoding and encoding happens locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your image is never uploaded to a server.
